BASED UK is a registered charity established by the National Spiritual Assembly in 1993. It is partnered by the Bahá’í International Development Organization at the World Centre with Bahá’i inspired organisations overseas, and assists in their activities by channelling financial resources to them. These partner programmes are located in Honduras (Bayan Association), Mongolia (Mongolia Development Centre) and eSwatini (Setsimbiso Sebunye Foundation).
Accomplishments
During the year under review, BASED UK engaged with a wide variety of supporters reflected in our AGM’s highest attendance for many years. It was held relatively late in the year on 19th September 2020 with 21 friends attending from Scotland, Wales, Jersey, England, Switzerland, South Africa & eSwatini and Mongolia with a pre-recorded video from Honduras. AGM highlights were undoubtedly the presence of staff from the MDC and from SSF who gave moving personal accounts of working within very challenging environments to continuously support children and families through their capacity building programmes. Their resilience in maintaining the work in the face of Covid lockdowns was inspiring to all present.
